I’ve managed to replace Fionnuala fairly quickly with a new writer, Barbara. I’ll let her introduce herself in words and pictures herself.
‘Hi, I’m Barbara, a lady of a certain age 🙂 whose avatar is intended to reflect that. Shorter, greyer hair and a bit bigger around the middle, lol. It’s the badges of life, and I’m not ashamed to proudly present myself as a woman of a certain age in SL. I’m glad to be here, writing for SLN and sharing my SL naturism with you.
Having got an invite (I’ve been a friend of Ella’s for quite a long time, although we didn’t meet at a naturist place as I recall) to join the crew, I thought I’d check out the ‘home sim’ at Nudity Where Art Thou and wander around a bit. I’m not as dedicated a naturist as the likes of Ella might be, but I have been known to visit beaches in the past in both SL and RL, although ‘topless’ is more my main mode of swimwear on RL beaches. What else do you need to know? We’ll find that out as we go along together, I expect. In the meantime, here’s some photos of me exploring Nudity where art thou…:)
Haha! I’ll have that Cannonball Adderley LP, thank you very much!
Not another cock-up on the drinks ordering front! It’s enough to turn a girl to…well, drink with no alcohol in them!
Chopsticks never sounded so good
Again, something slightly different, with some readers’ contributions assembled in a collage, fleshed out with some ‘stock shots’ of Harry’s. Feel free to use it as wallpaper (yes, it’s THAT big!)
I arrived at night, and was so struck by some of the lighting that I didn’t even bother to change my environment settings. I think you can probably imagine the warmth of the evening, the smell of foliage, and the sound of the cicadas as I wind down after a hard day’s sunbathing.
The name, Wetnsexy Beach, doesn’t inspire confidence in what Ella would call genuine naturism, but I’m not sure yet about this relatively new beach. I tp’ed in as visitor 388, I think, so it’s obviously pretty new. Sure, there are poseballs, and poseballs aplenty, but they’re tucked away in private quarters, so they aren’t ‘in your face’. I guess it will depend on the needs of the users as to what sort of emphasis the beach takes.
If you don’t want to use the pose balls (I tried some of the solo ones, hahaha) then there’s enough sunbathing type poses to enjoy on this beach. Yeah, probably not a genuine sim, by Ella’s definition, but you need to maximise traffic, and lets face it, it’s what some people come for on some nude beaches. I’ll leave it up to Ella to determine her categorisation of it, but I think it’s a cute little beach that would be well worth visiting at least once or twice, and certainly with environment settings on ‘midnight’ for one of your visits.
(Thanks, Pierre, it certainly looks beautiful from the pix. I’m not going to pre-judge a sim on the basis of a few pose balls, so we’ll see how this one develops. I certainly recall my first naturist ‘home’, Manatee, had a place away from the the madding crowd where those inclined could ‘make out’ 🙂 and it didn’t distract from it being a genuine naturist place. I think there’s a tipping point, and I’m not judging a beach that’s new and trying to find its identity immediately: Ella)
It’s easy to get jaded in SL, once you’ve stood in a room full of furry hermaphrodite foxes discussing the Christian Right. Sometimes SL can feel like a bar scene from Star Wars where all manner of living creature hangs out. I’ve tried a fair manner of things I will never get the chance to do in RL, or wouldn’t have the bravery to do, such as naked skydiving. The ‘naked’ part doesn’t scare me. Flinging myself out of an airplane with some cloth and string for company is the bit that would terrify me.
It’s therefore delightful to re-visit old experiences and find they’ve not become old-hat, such as the Su Casa balloon ride (photographed here by Harry, with model ‘Red’ posing beautifully for us). It’s still a delightful, gentle ten minutes spent, and with judicious use of camming, and environment settings, each balloon ride can be unique and great fun. (I did this a long time ago and my main recollection is that breast physics work exceptionally well, lol. I think I should do it again soon : Ella)
If you’ve got ten minutes, I think the Su Casa balloon ride is a lovely way to idle away some SL time and also practice your camping, as the elevated position gives a panoramic view of SL, and undertaken at a pace that provides views you wouldn’t normally imagine if you simply fly around Su Casa (or any other sim for that matter).
We don’t charge for advertising. It’s simply a way of reminding people what’s available to them in their SL naturism. In this case it’s Abrico Praia, a Portuguese speaking, Brazilian beach. A long-established location in SL, we’ve decided to do a report and photos from Abrico in this issue.
