Different approaches to beachwear (2)

One of the things I see regularly on trips to naturist places, be it the beach, in a naturist hotel or campground, is that people go on holiday together. Friends? Family? Whatever, you’ll often see two couples who obviously know each other and who are on holiday together.

Or there’s the locals for whom the naturist lifestyle is the normal lifestyle, not just for the duration of holidays.

And in both cases it’s common to see the women talking a walk together. Girlie time (whatever their ages)!

And in this scenario, whatever age, whether local or holidaymakers, they differ in terms of beach wear from when they’re with their men folk. That is, there is none! 🙂

Yes, it’s almost as if there’s some unseen force at work that says ‘I shall match your dress code’, and in most instances that means fully nude. It’s as if they no longer feel the focus of attention in numbers (even if the number is two), and fully nudity is therefore suddenly more acceptable in the circumstances.

We see this in all holiday circumstances. A group of teenage girls go on holiday and when the first one goes topless, the rest follow suit. When one decides for a reckless skinny dip at midnight, the rest join in, not wanting to feel left out. (Guys will do exactly the same).

There’s no doubt about it. In naturism, males tend to go totally nude more of the time than women. This isn’t a ‘look what I’ve got!’ approach. It more accurately reflects that, in certain situations, a woman will feel a breeze much more readily than a man, particularly around her shoulders and bosom, and depending on the situation, will not want to feel totally exposed.

Fully nude on her towel on the beach is fine. Walking to and from the sea fully nude is fine. But many women have a tendency to at least throw on a sarong when going for refreshments, or walking to and from the beach. I’ve witnessed the weird situation of a couple arriving by car, getting out of it, he strips of and packs his clothes away until his return while she strips off fully too, then wraps a sarong around herself for the walk to the beach before removing it again immediately.

There’s the strange situation, too, where the male will go nude while his partner, possibly not as enthusiastic a naturist as him, will retain her bikini briefs quite a bit. For strolling down the beach together, he’ll happily go fully nude, while she’ll have bikini briefs in place. Of course, quite often too, when they return to their chosen part of the beach, off come the briefs. And maybe, sometimes, they’ll go on again for a swim, then off again as she gets back to her chosen place on the sand. And it isn’t as if she’s removing them coyly. Oh, she’ll readily peel them off, toss them onto her towel, dry herself quite unconcerned that she’s fully nude, in public view, and then put them on again for the next swim, an hour or more later!

While I’m not in this category, I do regularly cover up my top half with a T-shirt. Yes, for the breeze; it can feel chilly after a swim, but also to spare my shoulders the full rigours of the sun from time to time.

Oddly enough, though, the rules change when it’s two women walking together on the beach.
