The Hipster Fair, 2015

The Hipster Fair, 2015, is coming. It begins on February 1st.

Of course we’ll be popping along! I think there’s a definite link with hipsters, hippies and naturism, as they’re all part of a counter-culture, naturism certainly being part of an alternative lifestyles concept before the phrases ‘counter culture’ and ‘alternative lifestyles’ were coined. 260089492

Think of things like Russia’s Empty Hills festival, the Burning Man festival. There’s still a sense of those leading an alternative lifestyle also being politically switched on in an era where much of the planet seems drugged up on soap opera and football to the point where they can’t think or do anything to create a fairer world. It’s left to the hipster kids, with their dreads, tattoos, loose fitting clothing that will readily be shed in a celebration of the human body, to lead the politics. Eco-warriors? Aren’t they now leading ‘green’ politics around the globe? Didn’t they protest for nuclear dis-armament? Sl has its own ‘Burning Man’ festival (in October, I think) and this year I fully intend SLN to be part of that, by setting up part of a sim, if we possibly can, to run an SLN sponsored ‘Critical Tits‘ bike ride, reflecting the RL ‘Burning Man’s’ topless or nude bike ride.

In anticipation of that, the Hipster Fair will be our first stopping off point of the year with intentions to at least be (semi) clothed when the time comes to book a part sim in order to be part of SL’s own ‘Burning Man’ festival. We’ll update on the Hipster Fair closer to the time.

Look of the Day (a naturist accessory posting)

Other SL blogs will regularly do a ‘LOTD’ post -the ‘look of the day’, wherein a model is posed in clothes that are new to SL, and assembled for a look as unique or individual as each avatar. Hitherto a look of the day isn’t something we’ve necessarily aspired to, preferring no clothes in our posts 🙂

However, I’ve decided that we should relax this hitherto unwritten rule thanks to SLN reader Pru, who assembled a look out of current free gifts that she felt would fit with our ‘naturist wardrobe’ posts. The loose top is, very much, a naturist lady’s type of evening wear. Loose, airy and sexy. In the photo above you can see that it’s going to be worn without a bra and now that it has been pointed out by Pru, yes, I do feel that the style is very much naturist wardrobe, the sort of thing ladies will wear in restaurants and, on more occasions than I can recall, probably end up showing a nipple here and there. Yes, Pru! An ideal naturist wardrobe addition. It’s currently a free gift at Black Swan. (no group joining fee, either)

The hair worn by Pru in this is also a free group gift from Boon Hair. Pru says ‘I like it because it puts me in mind of those elfin-faced, slim and petite naturist ladies we all encounter from time to time who wear boyish hairstyles to match their boyish figures. Again, well spotted. Such small, slim naturist ladies are regularly apparent in naturist locations. Indeed, this is a look that will be familiar on young naturist Mums. I’m not sure why, but yes, many young, naturist mothers with elfin figures will often sport a similar type of look. Don’t believe me? Look around next time you’re on the beach. I’ll bet you can spot a couple of petite Mums who have hairstyles very similar to this.

Pru adds that ‘I decided to show a bit of skin for the sake of SLN in the final photo, and because I don’t ever recall you blogging this pubic hair. It’s L$289, from Miss Canning, and only on the Marketplace, as far as I know’.

I did some quick research and couldn’t find it in Miss Canning’s inworld store, but it is on the Marketplace in a fat pack of eight different pubic hair styles. Pru’s correct. It’s not something we’ve blogged before, but thanks for pointing it out to us. We’ll blog on the full set in the near future.

If you’ve got an idea for a ‘look of the day’ which broadly fits into a naturist theme, that is, it has a look and feel that reflects ‘ladies dressed up to go out for dinner while on vacation’, and can be assembled for free (mostly), please don’t be shy! Throw something together, in a notecard or email, and we’ll certainly add it to the ‘naturist suitcase’ that is easily going to go over that 25kg suitcase limit favoured by budget airlines. Never mind the excess baggage charge ladies, we’ll look fabulously dressed by night, and fabulously nude by day.

The Newest Wrinkles

My latest go-to blog is The Newest Wrinkles, for the specific reason that they show a lot of skin. In fact, they show all of it! 🙂

As usual, I won’t use others’ photographs, as they’re possibly subject to copyright and, besides, click the link and go see for yourself.

It’s not just a case of bloggers accepting that the body isn’t something to be censored. No, my love of blogs like this is that where skins are concerned, I want to see ‘the full effect’ prior to purchase.

I think that the main blogger/editor of the site is Mena, and boy does she have a terrific thoroughness to her blogging, with each aspect of skins teased out in detail, comparing boobs, butts and the various elements of a full skin, so that the likes of you, or I, can even go as far as comparing subtle genital differences. We all know (or should know) that there’s a variation in women’s vaginal profiles, and it’s a delight to look at the photos and be able to say ‘this best matches the look I wish to achieve’. Some bloggers seem peculiarly coy in respect of allowing us a full assessment of how a skin will finally look. More than once, in the past, I’ve bought a skin which I thought would look great, only to ultimately say ‘no, those nipples aren’t me at all’.

Of course, not every avatar is desperately anxious to achieve high levels of realism (hello, furries! 🙂 ) but for those of us who do -and I feel that there are an increasing numbers for whom reality is the thing- The Newest Wrinkles’ reviews are something of a joy to behold. I’m following the blog, and will provide you with updates as they seem to particularly suit a naturist perspective.

Oh…and they aren’t afraid to show male skins either 🙂
