Orgy night at Commune Utopia

Monday night is orgy night at Commune Utopia. Not our natural hinterland, but still worth exploring from a 3rd party perspective 🙂

Sedi has the builders in, so the Commune isn’t looking as photogenic as it usual does, and until I manage to establish some ground rules regarding taking photos of people there (particularly in an orgy!) I’ll largely refrain from posting.

Still, all was not lost. New photographer Hugh came online, and despite not being an SL or RL naturist managed to get his kit off while the two of us explored bits of the in-transition Commune, and take photos of each other while doing that ‘getting to know you’ thing. He seems like he could be a lot of fun to work with.

I (and possibly Hugh) will be back at the Commune later on for their second orgy session (geared more for a north American time slot than the earlier European one). As spectators, I should add!

Should anyone be interested in having their photos taken, and published, I’m sure we’ll find some dusty corner of SLN on which to publish them.

Diane

Our new photographer

Despite making good progress following illness, Harry told me a while back that he won’t be returning to SLN. ‘I can maybe manage ten minutes here and there on SL’, he wrote in an email, ‘but I’ve retired from my job on health grounds and am looking forward to a bit more in the way of fresh air and family time than I’ve had for a long time. The computer comes a long way down my list of priorities’.

There will always be an open contribution for Harry to contribute, but of course we respect that decision, and health matters always take top priority.

We wish Harry well in his retirement. I can’t thank him enough for his contributions to SLN almost from the start of the blog, and the work he provided which sometimes inspired me to provide words when I didn’t have the inspiration to post.

We’ve still got Diane operating as a staff photographer, but SLN is a team effort. By all adding little bits, we keep the blog ticking over. It couldn’t possibly be a single-handed effort, and the more the merrier, as far as I’m concerned, with all of us pitching ideas in left, right and centre.

My RL Spanish friend, Jose, was keen to assist on the photography end of things, but he has just begun a new job and his SL time is once again limited. As a result I’ve found another new photographer who, I think, will be able to provide us with a rich vein of material, and take the pressure off Diane to produce great SLN photos. As you’ve probably noticed, where the likes of Pookes and I have added our own, they’ve come across as little more than holiday snaps, as we don’t really see scenes with a photographer’s eye (as important in SL as it is in RL, I would suggest).

The thing about Hugh’s contributions are that he hasn’t come into this as a SL or RL naturist, so his photos have had less emphasis on the naturist lifestyle, more on capturing ‘mood’.

He has, however, been reading SLN 🙂 and begun checking out some of the landmarks and sims we’ve linked to, so some naturist photography is beginning to drift back towards my in-tray.

By way of introduction, then, I’m offering a selection of his photos, all of which were taken in and around the Blue Lagoon, part of the Eden Estate. ‘An exceptionally friendly bunch who made me feel most welcome’, he tells me.

‘I’ve just gone for ‘mood‘ at Blue Lagoon. Yes, I did take some photos of some gorgeous looking avatars, but I’d like their permission to use their image prior to posting those’.

‘I think that the photo that you are publishing of the dancers is probably enough to ensure that their anonymity is maintained, at least until such time as I get their permission’.

Which fantasy world is leading which fantasy world?

See through fabrics are apparently ‘the thing’ in the fashion industry ‘this season’ (whatever that means).

Interesting that The Independent asks the question ‘but can they work in real life?’

Is this some sort of admission that fashion is little more than a fantasy world where implausibly shaped women who rarely bear any reflection to any town near you end up wearing some ridiculous costume that is, for what you’re getting, likely to be ludicrously expensive and not very practical?

What is ‘see through fabric’ anyway? Cling film?

I typed the words ‘see thru’ into the Marketplace search box and got 43 pages of results, with a capability of several of the outfits to resemble the one worn by Kate Moss (above).

Typing the words ‘see through’ in and there were even more results, many even closer to Kate Moss’s style.

The best I saw was by Ally Adventure, so I headed over to her inworld store where the clothing is advertised as ‘chainmail’ rather than ‘see through’, and tried on some of her demo versions.

I have to say I love these clothes, and would certainly have bought, and dared to have worn, an item like this to, say, Frank’s Jazz Place. The only thing that put me off buying it was that I don’t often dress up in SL, and don’t really go dancing either, so I can’t really justify the cost. But if you are an avatar who likes either of these things, I can’t recommend Ally’s clothing highly enough.

It did leave me pondering one question, though.

Which fantasy world is now leading another fantasy world in the haute couture stakes?
