Ode to a nightingale

Ode to a Nightingale
BY JOHN KEATS
My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains
My sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk,
Or emptied some dull opiate to the drains
One minute past, and Lethe-wards had sunk:
‘Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,
But being too happy in thine happiness,—
That thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees
                        In some melodious plot
Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,
Singest of summer in full-throated ease.
Summer begins to slip away and with it the 2016 real life naturist season. Soon, too soon, it will be time for winter clothes and winter fires. Hopefully there are enough bright, crisp, sunny days to see us through the autumn/fall before then.

In the meantime, I’ve spent the evening in the garden, listening to a rather melodious blackbird, rather than a nightingale, but its song has reminded my of John Keats’ marvellous poem and also of a song…

When I lived in west London we used to go up to Mayfair, a short bus ride away and sometimes a walk home again in the small hours if we’d spent all of our money!

Despite it being an area of incredible wealth (then and now) it was still possible to go up there, window shop and have a coffee or a cup cake in one of the areas many cafes.

We would do our Christmas shopping sometimes, emerging in late afternoon and gather our breath in Berkley Square before hopping onto the bus, the tube, or beginning our walk back down to the area where I grew up, about five miles away.
Trine and I are planning some minor changes to the blog, as both of us have grown tired of the endless round of shopping and more shopping often involved with SL. Yes, we’re still visiting naturist sims, but we’ve also been doing a lot of exploring of photogenic, non-naturist sims, just to give us a fresher look to the photos we utilise.

Judy poses at the Hemlock Stone sim (slurl in the poem, above)
Trine will begin to roll these out next week, while I take another bit of a break from blogging as real life takes over and I’m busy until the end of the month.
